Instruction: How Should Learning Be Designed?
This section examines ten different theories on instruction:
- Mastery Learning
- Cooperative Learning
- Accelerated Learning
- Thematic Instruction
- Whole-Brain Teaching
- Service Learning
- Cognitive Coaching
- School-to-Work Transition
- Instructional Technology
- Youth Apprenticeship

I find that cooperative learning really helps my kids. They may not understand my approach, but a peer may explain it in more familiar terms. Groups of kids tend to want to help the weaker learner.
Teachers should design learning by using many different types of effective tools in their classroom. Teachers should take into consideration that not all students learn in the same manner. When students come to school, the teacher should be able to design lessons by incorporating from students’ experiences and preexisting knowledge. Teachers should teach subject matter in depth and provide many examples for students to grasp the learning experience. Metacognitive skills should be implemented into the lesson in order for students to be able to think outside of the box by asking questions about the material being taught.
Terry – an excellent question! I have moved your question to our lonely forum. I am trying to get that forum going and I thought this was a topic that would better sit there. Hope the comment is of some use.

Hi
I am “trying” to research the use and benefit of learning styles and multiple intelligence within the advertising world. My argument would be that if the producers of advertisements were acutley aware of these issues then advertising could become even more focussed and productive. Any comment/advice/direction would be appreciated
